Delivering elements of ambience and post-rock into a satisfying whole, Katre’s “Encounters” is a thoughtful nuanced album. Songs opt for a cinematic scope to them one that results in beautiful sprawling environments. Everything comes together to create this vast sea of sound one that choose subtle changes in texture and color. By taking this approach the entirety of the album works best when taken in as a whole for the songs play off each other creating dazzling kaleidoscope.
